Janice Vlachos

Educator, Pianist


Janice Vlachos received her Bachelor of Music in 1992 from Belmont University in Nashville.  During her 26 years as a high school director, 16 groups under her direction have been selected to sing at the CMEA annual conference. Beginning her career in 1993 at Lyons Junior/Senior High School followed by eight years at Wheat Ridge High School and three years at Chatfield High School, she returned “home” in 2005 to Fairview in Boulder where her love of music began as a student. 


Ms. Vlachos is a member of CMEA, JEN, and ACDA, serving as past R&S chairs, presently the contemporary commercial repertoire and resource chair for Southwest ACDA.  Her SSAA jazz group, Age of Guinevere,  won a Downbeat award and was selected to sing at the JEN conference in NOLA. 


At Fairview, Ms. Vlachos directs five choirs, is Fine Arts Department chairperson and produces/directs the musical and Pops!  Ms. Vlachos resides in Boulder with her husband, Dean. Daughter Eleni is 21 and a senior Criminal Justice major at Gannon University, son Nikolas, who is a junior Musical Theater major at the University of Northern Colorado.
